A ‘Blanc de Blancs’ expression, made from Chardonnay. A pale lemon-green colour in the glass, with a busy rush of very fine bubbles. The perfume has bags of fresh citrus, peach and apple, with a toasty breadcrumb autolysis character. The finesse flows through into the palate, where the balance between the zesty and crisp acidity as it meets the creamy texture gives an edge of both harmony and energy. Clean, precise, with a saline minerality and great drive through to a long, salivating finish. 94pts
No. 1 Rosé NV
Made from Pinot Noir in a Brut style of Rosé Méthode Traditionnelle. A pale salmon/coral pink colour. The fizz leaps from the glass with tight, concentrated mousse of bubbles. Cherry, strawberry, greengage, cranberry, hibiscus and red liquorice flavours mingle with a touch of brioche and almond in the bouquet. It has the family signature seen in the Blanc de Blancs, with a medium weight, silky texture and brisk, mouth-watering acidity. The dry finish has superb persistence. 94pts
No.1 Assemblé NV
Typically a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay with a touch of Pinot Meunier, in a Brut style. A delicate pale golden colour in the glass, with a very fine bead of tiny bubbles. A touch of savoury on the nose – marmite, bay leaf and yeasty autolysis, is off-set by fresh fruity aromas of nectarine, nashi pear, strawberry and lemon peel. The palate is dry, with a touch of baking spice and toasted nuts at first and then that velvetty, voluptuous texture envelops the back of the palate. Well-made, elegant and very good value at the RRP. 93pts
