From the Rheinhessen region of Germany, my understanding of the labelling is that this is young vines from a top quality GG vineyard. A light straw colour in the glass. Apple, rhubarb, grapefruit, sourdough, lemon and a chalky minerality on the nose. Dry, pithy and focussed, but generous and juicy on the palate. So much coiled energy tied up in this glass. Ripe citrus and pear flavours. Tart acidity, long, structured finish. In my opinion there’s a sensational wine in here waiting to develop and spring itself upon you…needs time. 93pts (for now)
