Made from 100% garnacha (grenache) from the Tarragona region of Spain – old vines which range in age between 25 to 70 years old. Perfumed with a brooding dark fruit and leather, tar, roasted spices, violets and terracotta. An opaque ruby colour in the glass. Cherry, bramble and raspberry are underlined with liquorice and balsamic notes. Densely concentrated, with good secondary characters emerging already. Framed with solid french oak and showing chewy tannin, it is a fairly robust glassful. The spicy finish is a touch clipped. 90pts
