A Yarra Valley wine, from the Seville area in the Upper Yarra – made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, with eight years in the bottle. A golden hue, with a fine bead of bubbles – very smart presentation. Perfumed with vanilla biscuit, chamomile, hay, ginger, golden apple and bags of citrus, plus a smoky yeastiness. Very fine, with a piquant energy and focus. More lemon and grapefruit notes across the palate which fills and widens to a richer, more generous depth. Hints of honey and toast underneath that busy rush of acidity. The dry finish is mouth-watering and crisp. 93pts
