From the Two Terraces vineyard at Mangatahi, Hawke’s Bay. Deep purple-burgundy red in the glass. A bright and youthful perfume with rosehip, boysenberry, cassis, graphite, peppercorn and violets. Light to medium bodied. Brimming with fresh flavour, the fruit is crunchy and pops, pushed along on a wave of acidity. Hedgerow flavours of elderberry, bramble and damson plum. The palate is anchored with silky tannin and a layer of stony gravel opens up with some air through the wine. A soft plush texture envelops everything at the finish. 93pts
