I last tasted (and reviewed) this wine three years ago in January 2020. Now time to open the last bottle and see what’s happened over the ten years in the cellar. The colour is a golden-green, quite vibrant and deep. On the nose I get ripe citrus, peach, incense, acacia, melon and honey. There’s an odd tart bite of bitterness immediately on the palate – like where there was a touch of reductivity and flint, this has hardened into a mineral tang that isn’t appealing. The fruit seems to have strayed into too-golden, too-ripe, too-blousey territory. Oak and acidity are on point, but the balance is off and the smooth texture doesn’t save it. Left too long alas. 75pts.
