On Méthode Marlborough Day 2023 – celebrating the end of the harvest for Méthode wines (which are picked earlier than ones for still wines) in Marlborough. A new wine for me, from Whitehaven, one of the ‘MM’ members. A pale apricot-pink in the glass, with a fine, lively bead of bubbles. A bouquet of strawberry, satsuma, green peppercorn, lime zest, red apple and toasted spices. The palate has a good balance, with a tart acidity, some yeasty, almost musky brioche notes and those bright citrus and stonefruit flavours. The finish is very dry and has good length. 91pts
