From Wilyabrup in the Margaret River, a dense dark ruby claret in the glass. Punchy and aromatic, showing dark cherry, pepper, plum, bay leaf, blackcurrant, blueberry and eucalyptus on the nose. Dry and elegant despite the undoubted boldness through the palate. Medium acidity and the tannins are big but fine, chalky. The palate is rich, with tobacco and cedar amongst herbal, menthol notes and that dark ripe fruit. Generous, enveloping with smooth texture and long finish. 92pts
