The fruit comes from a coastal site near Cape Kidnappers/Te Awanga with a soil profile of shallow, warm clay loams. 2020 was a somewhat challenging growing season that saw Spring frosts and hail, followed by cooler-than-average conditions and an unusually dry period approaching drought conditions. Sealed with a screw cap and presents in the glass as a deep straw colour with aromas of citrus blossom and sea shell. The wine sits very lightly on the palate and is very elegant and integrated making it a great food wine. There is a purity of fruit with little apparent oak influence. The acidity has dropped from when I last tried this wine and is soft and supple. Time to drink up any remaining stocks. 92pts.
