From a riesling-only producer that made a range of wines from Central Otago, with vintages from 2009 to 2014. They made 884 bottles made of this expression. A brilliant straw-gold colour in the glass. The bouquet is pure riesling personality, with green apple, lime, pineapple, satsuma, apricot and top notes of elderflower and musky incense. The palate has a lightness and delicacy but plenty of flow, from the crisp acidity. A marriage of ripe fruit, talc-like texture and a crushed stone minerality. Around medium on the sweetness scale (41 g/L RS) which does add subtle weight as you go. A hint of honey and spice on the finish that has plenty of length. 93pts

JB – yes, I’ve heard he’s over in OZ.Maybe he’ll read this and get in touch. Myself and a couple of people I know have a handful of their wines in our cellars. It’s good stuff.
