A wine from the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. A pale coppery-pink colour in the glass. A lively bouquet of cherry, strawberry, cranberry, peach and lemon with hints of red liquorice, candied apple and hibiscus. That complex perfume is simplified into the palate, that has clarity, and directness. Fruit flavours are accented by a soft acid freshness and a stony minerality before a turn into a creamy texture fills out the back of the palate with a generous, broad brushstroke. A style that takes you from aperitif, through the meal and can easily be drunk just on its own – both well-polished and enjoyably juicy. 93pts
