A wine from a vineyard in the Upper Moutere region of Tasman. Named after the solitary tree standing in the centre of the unirrigated, clay/gravel soils of the Chardonnay block. Winner of a Gold Medal at the New Zealand International Wine Show in 2025.
A plan straw colour in the glass. A ripe, rich aroma of peach, apple, lemon curd, pineapple, cashew nut and vanilla spice. Quite full-bodied and bold, with a broad palate that packs a punch. With five years now in bottle, this is ready to drink, and offers plenty of texture, weight and personality for (the plenty of) people looking for that style. You’ll also get a warm toasty oak character and that nutty, creamy texture at the back of the palate. 92pts
