Moy Hall Dunrobin Pinot Noir 2023

From hand-picked fruit grown in the Blue Earth Vineyard in Martinborough. The 2023 vintage in Martinborough was a challenging season for growers with the wet, humid conditions of a La Niña summer plus the effects of Cyclone Gabrielle. A light ruby colour in the glass. The bouquet has plenty of local character, with black cherry, plum, toasted spice and that signature slightly funky and earthy ‘sous bois’ savoury tone of the region. Medium-bodied at most, there is a delicate but well-structured spine to the palate, with the jubey fruit sitting up, and supported by chalky tannin and crisp acidity. Fresh, energetic and juicy – I’d be looking to drink this rather than cellaring it. 90pts
