A single-vineyard wine from Central Otago – from the Estate vineyard in Bendigo. A pale coral pink colour in the glass. The perfume is lively and bright with aromas of watermelon, cherry, cranberry, redcurrant, strawberry toffees and then a top note of rose petal florals. Quite dry to taste and with a balance between plush fruit and crystalline acidity. Lip-smackingly clean and precise. There is a touch of savoury complexity mid-palate, where flavours of fennel, toasted spice and chamomile herbals meets juice – adding complexity and personality. Youthfully tight and fresh, this is drinking well now but will round out nicely in the bottle in the next few months. 92pts
Drunk to celebrate NZ Rosé Day (but posted a couple of days late, sorry)
