A white wine from the Gladstone sub-region of Wairarapa, and a varietal that seems to be in decline after looking very promising for New Zealand a decade ago. A pale gold colour in the glass. Varietally-pure scents of apricot, satsuma, peach, lemon curd, baking spices and a definite floral rose petal and jasmine top note. The palate is full and inviting, with a richness and phenolic texture that fills the mouth. Enough acidity to keep the complex flavours turning over, adding freshness and line through the mid-palate. The sumptuous finish brings it all together and has good length. 93pts
