An Albarino from Gisborne – and a new label to me – but winner of a coveted Double Gold medal at NZIWS in 2025. A pale lemon-green colour in the glass, with very bright and appealing aromas of apple, nectarine, lemon and grapefruit. There is a exotic floral note to the nose too – jasmine and orange blossom. Equally bright and energy-packed in the palate, where that signature saline acidity of the varietal holds sway. Clean, juicy and refreshing – the fruit flavours come in waves and are then wrapped in a waxy texture that has a little grainy mealiness to it too. Good weight built through the mid-palate then a broad finish with good length. 93pts
