A riesling from a region that has long been well-regarded for the varietal – having won awards stretching back decades. A pale gold, with touches of green to the rim. Bright and zingy aromas of lemongrass, green herbals, orange, lychee, lime zest and nectarine. The palate is slightly off-dry, but light and vibrant. The lush fruit doesn’t cloy, despite a honeyed ripeness, as it is carried on a wave of crisp acidity. A honeyed, creamy texture aligns well with a stony minerality, adding complexity and verve to an interesting yet still quite classical expression of the varietal. A long, freshening finish. 92pts
