A wine from right down at the southern tip of what would be considered the Marlborough winegrowing region, on the coast at Kēkerengū. A pale, silvery yellow in the glass, with a crisp, bright perfume filled – at first – with green notes of capsicum, fresh herbs, nettle and pea pod. Followed by whitecurrant, jalapeño and lemongrass. The palate broadens on that base and heads riper, into flavours of honeydew melon and satsuma. Staying dry, focussed and vibrant throughout, then a juicy, zesty finish of good length. 93pts
