The second edition of this limited edition Rosé – ff you were expecting a v.2 following the 2023 vintage of this one, think again. Made this year with Montepulciano fruit from their Gimblett estate this is a quite different expression. A very pale coral pink (again) in the glass. The nose has a tang of red fruits – cranberry, redcurrant, red apple and cherry – with a touch of baking spices and rose petal florals. The palate is light, fresh and quite dry, driven by a taut acidity. Plenty of energy and some textural creaminess, but not your typically ‘fruity’ New Zealand style rosé. The finish mirrors the palate, with a clean, mouth-watering crispness. 88pts
