A return to taste a wine that I first met in May last year (and had thought to go back to sooner than this) – https://winefolio.co.nz/?p=8494. But this is a new edition… last year’s was the 2021 vintage. A single vineyard wine from Martinborough. A golden-green colour in the glass. A blast of pristine citrus fruit on the nose, with cardamom and vanilla in support, adding warmth. Where the ’21 was quite complex and characterful, this edition seems simple to understand, and flows easily through the palate, on a tide of crisp acidity. Some muesli/oatmeal texture does add richness, but the finish is a pithy, dry conclusion of average length. 89pts
