From the ‘Home Block’ vineyard in Auckland. A pale golden-yellow in the glass. Richly aromatic, with grapefruit, baked apple, hazelnut, peach and oyster shell notes. Crisp and dry on the palate, with a pithy acidity setting the tone for energy and vibrancy. There is a plushness that lingers from the nose, through the palate, and makes friends with some toasty oak, fattening up mid-palate. With that weight cut by the acidity, there is a delicate balance throughout and it lasts into the lengthy and vibrant finish. 94pts
