A white blend from Western Cape in South Africa. A mix of three varietals – Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. A vibrant pale green-gold in the glass. Perfumed with apricot, dried pineapple, grapefruit, hay, green apple, lemon peel and whitecurrant. A dry entry to the palate, with a frisson of spritz. Zesty acidity gives a pulse of citrus and stonefruit flavours good length. Some fruit tannin adds a peppery phenolic interest to what is quite a tight, elegant and structured white. The finish is lengthy and lingering. One for a big dish of shellfish or oysters. 89pts
