A Bordeaux left-bank inspired blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc from the Lethbridge vineyards outside Geelong in Victoria. Considering the ripe depth on show, it has an admirable 12.9% alc/vol. A dense black-purple in the glass. Voluptuous on the nose, with signature cassis, mint, cacao, kirsch and blackberry with floral notes of violet and lavender. The palate has a creamy texture – viscous and glossy, but there’s a grip of broad tannin that contrasts with the plushness, the result is quite electric and has a tightness that squeezes the flavours together. Ripe but not jammy. Sweet but not cloying. A wave of acidity keeps it breezing along, into a generous finish that is sweetening and lasting. 94pts
