A single vineyard wine from Bannockburn in Central Otago. Scented with ripe fruit flavours of redcurrant, blood orange, cherry and plum; a note of terracotta, and then dried herbs, a toasty spice and lavender. A wine with a great sense of place – Bannockburn’s arid landscape is woven through this Pinot. Right now it is youthful and tight, with a concentration and depth into the palate. The tannin is silky but with some grip; the acidity perky and flowing. It may take a little time for the interplay of elements to really work in tandem – give it a couple of years in your cellar. 92pts
