Made with fruit hand harvested at the On Giants Shoulders vineyard in Martinborough. A lighter colour but plenty of big pinot Noir flavours – red cherry, star anise, plum, rose petals, white pepper and mocha. It feels uncomplicated – sparse almost – but it is all there. The palate is bursting with energy and vitality. Ripe, fine tannins sit amongst savoury notes of peat, root beer, salami and terracotta. Well balanced acidity brings the best out of the succulent red fruits and the finish comes together with a satisfying length and persistence. 94pts
