Another Chardonnay from this Willow Lake Vineyard that seems to crop up everywhere on labels from Yarra Valley! A pale golden-green in the glass, with a little reductivity and struck-match character on the nose, but melded into the grapefruit, nectarine, cashew nut and lemon blossom aromatics. More oak influence than is common from Yarra today – toasty and spicy, heightening what is quite an intense, complex and tactile wine. The zesty acidity balances out the richness, lengthening the palate into a sustained, precise finish with a delicious dryness. 93pts
