A deep ruby-crimson in the glass. A bold, dark aromatic structure, filled with mulberry, mint, blackcurrant, raspberry, bay leaf, sandalwood and musk rose. The palate is rich and full, fronted by a mixture of ripe red-blue fruits and savoury notes of capsicum, bitter chocolate and beetroot; around a core of dry, chewy tannins. Some tart, crisp acidity gives flow, and there is a spicy oak note lingering in the background. A little tight and robust for now, but the structure (and heritage) suggests some promise given mid-term cellaring. The finish sweetens and carries well. 90pts
