From a limestone-soiled hillside vineyard in Wairarapa – whole bunch pressed and aged in old oak. Varietally pure aromatics of crisp, ripe pear, satsuma peel, red apple, jasmine, lychee and cardamom. Dry, bright and tight into the palate – with a tense, youthful vibrancy. Alongside a chalky minerality sits some riper fruit and spice notes – developing as the wine airs: honeycomb, nutmeg, white peach and citrus. Acidity is fresh and lively, giving a flow to the palate and ending in a dry, pithy finish with good length. A well-crafted, modern expression. 92pts
