A Marlborough wine with a great pedigree – the latest version winning the Trophy at NZIWS this year. This one with a few years under its belt. Golden straw coloured in the glass, with an exotic, aromatic nose. Pineapple, ginger, peony, orange zest, candy apple, almond, lychee and peach, with a rose petal floral lift. Richly concentrated, with a depth to the sweetness that is well balanced with a structured acidity. Intensely textural – a plush glossiness and mouth-watering, mouth-filling, caramelised, dried fruitiness. A concentrated but altogether elegant finish. 94pts
