A first field blend of white varities from Framingham – using small parcels of fruit including Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Montepulciano, Pinot Noir and Viognier. Quite the cornucopia! Immensely aromatic and complex on the nose, with the Gewürz setting the tone. Rose petals, mandarin, nougat, grapefruit, green pear and white cherry. Dry, with an appealing sappy astringency that offsets the lush fruit. Super acidity, with great line into an oatmeal, pithy texture showing some fruit tannin. Youthful and angular – not quite connecting all the dots yet – this may take some time in the bottle to find the balance. 91pts
