From Marlborough, in a low-yielding but excellent quality year. A brilliant, very pale lemon-green yellow in the glass. Bold but not too upfront on the nose – with lemongrass, white peach, passionfruit, golden apple, capsicum and blackcurrant flavours. Deliciously intense, with a brightness of acidity and fruit flavour that powers through the palate. Taking a turn towards the tropics (guava, green papaya), with some pepper, mineral and citrus zest merging into a plush texture deeper in. A lengthy, well-balanced finish too. 91pts
