One of a range of rosé from Terra Sancta based on Felton Rd in Bannockburn – I’ve not stumbled upon this particular one very often. I also find that keeping a rosé for a year or two before drinking suits my taste, mellowing out the freshness of a young wine and not losing too much flavour or brightness. A peachy salmon pink in the glass, and an absolute blast of aromas – you’ll sometimes hear of ‘a Central Otago fruit bomb’ – well this is it. Summery perfumes of watermelon, nectarine, cherry and strawberry collide with oriental spices and roast almond. A vibrant acidity carries the flow through a palate with a nudge of fruit tannin, ripe fruit and into a minerally, mouth-filling texture. A hint of vermouth-like herbals comes through in the finish. Well balanced, elegant and delicious. 91pts.
