A wine from Palliser Estate in Martinborough – mostly fruit from their Pencarrow Vineyard. A light gold with a pink-petal edge to the colour in the glass. Perfumed with pear, red apple, baking spice, quince and lemon blossom. Vibrant with an acidity that balances nicely against the plush fruit on the palate. A nibble of fruit tannin, and also a sweetness that nudges just past dry, but suits the wine well. Generous, textured and delicious. Everything there, for a Pinot Gris really; and good value at the price at my local supermarket. 88pts
