From Wanaka, and some of New Zealand’s oldest Pinot vines. A dense, opaque, purple in the glass – boldly perfumed with blueberry, cherry, raspberry and violets florals. Medium bodied, dry and with a savoury edge that carries through to the ripe-fruited palate. Great acidity and balance, with the tannins well integrated and lithe. Elegant, composed and with such poise – everything in place. Love the peaty minerality – an earthy, forest floor, mushroom-like character that gives great complexity as the wine opens up. Drinking well now, not needing to cellar any further. 95pts.
