Using their best fruit from Estate vineyards on Waiheke Island. Bright, pale golden-yellow, greening at the edges. Perfumed with satsuma, grapefruit, red apple, chestnut, oatmeal and lemon blossom. Crisp, enticing and elegant – lively with tension and a jazzy acidity. In the mid-palate, the wine deepens, taking on more tropical fruit notes, showing some caramel, toastiness and baking spices. A plush texture gives a roundness and softening elements to the back of the palate – a nice response to the verve of the opening. Finish is lingering, drying and generous. 93pts.
