From Wairarapa, a bright, pale gold with green tinges in the glass. Elegant and crisp on the nose, with pear, mandarin, lychee, oat biscuit, almond and spring blossom aromas. Dry with a whisper of sweetness across the broad, open palate. Balanced acidity and good concentration of ripe fruit flavours. Heading into quince, apricot and lemon marmalade as the wine opens up. A little spice character – nutmeg and cardamom, and a silky texture also develops at the back of the palate. Well crafted and delicious – we enjoyed this matched with grilled fish and roast vegetable bake. 90pts.
