From Gisborne, a pale lemon green-yellow in the glass. Attractively perfumed with rich peach, melon and grapefruit, then biscuit crumb and cashew nut, before a gentle spice and vanilla comes through. Dry and full-bodied. Quite boisterous and vivacious – ripe, and brimming with stone fruit and citrus. Acidity is bright, spun around a core of pithy fruit tannin and warm, nutty wood. Generous, textural and creamy at the back of the palate, with rich popcorn and butterscotch notes at the end. 92pts.
