From fruit on their Cairnmuir and Arthur’s Vineyards in Bannockburn. A classic Central Otago nose of thyme, dark cherry, cranberry and rosehip. Medium bodied, with vibrant acidity and a concentrated, rich palate weight. Savoury – with truffle, coffee bean, and forest floor to balance the spiced red fruits. Tannins are firm and ripe, with a little cinnamon and tomato stalk hinting at some whole bunch complexity. Oak quietly does its thing – smoky and sweetly vanilla scented. This is elegant, calm and with a subtle power. The finish is long, with finesse and smoothness. 92pts.
