From North Canterbury, a pale straw-yellow in the glass. Jasmine and freesia florals, with almond, lemongrass, mandarin and fig with a varietal note of kerosene on the nose. Off-dry, with a juicy acidity that balances a sweetness of ripe tropical fruits on the palate. Crisp and fresh, with just a start of bottle age beginning to round out the wine to a waxy, oily feel to the back of palate. This texture is what hangs this together, with a wet-stone minerality and salinity creeping into the finish. Ending long, elegant and refreshing. 94pts. Still years to come if you can keep these put away.
