From the Terra Sancta vineyard on Felton Road, a lone plot of Pinot Gris amongst the oldest Pinot Noir vines on the property. A brilliant straw colour, with bold aromas of honeysuckle, ginger, comice pear, oat biscuits and satsuma. Off-dry, medium bodied and generous on the palate, balanced with a fine, minerally acidity. Full of ripe, concentrated fruit flavours – Apricot, red apple skin, nectarine and honeydew melon. A warm of oriental spices, pepper and a candied sweetness of red liquorice, like walking out of an old fashioned sweetshop into a French bakery. Towards the end, the texture comes right forward and is quite phenolic, enfolding and plush. The finish is sweetening and very long. 93pts. Up there with our very best New Zealand examples.
