From Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley, a brilliant pale lemon in the glass, with aromas of ginger, chamomile, pear, orange blossom and pink grapefruit. Medium bodied with an off-dry residual sweetness that adds to the ripe, opulent fruit flavours. Honeycomb, white peach, lemon rind and apricot on the palate, underlined with warm baking spices of cardamom, vanilla and nutmeg. The rounded texture adds lushness and there’s just a hint of oaky toastiness. Although plush and rich, the finish comes drier and long. 90pts.
