A rich golden yellow in the glass, with a definite old-school nose of roast hazelnut, peach, cardamom, oat biscuit and smoky, flinty notes. Weighty, quite substantial on the palate with great concentration and a plush, rounded texture.
More whitefleshed stonefruit, grapefruit and lemon, heading into riper, more tropical flavours of melon, popcorn and pineapple. Ginger, marzipan, and baking spices come through as you dive into the layers. Not shy on the oak, with plenty of toasty, vanilla seasoning. This Chardonnay has structure, balance and the bright acidity gives a great drive through to the sweet, crisp finish. 93pts
