Pale lemon colour in the glass; aromatic, with bright notes of lemongrass, myrtle, gooseberry and asparagus, coupled with a stony minerality to the nose. Leading the palate is a bright acidity with juicy pear, passionfruit and blackcurrant. Not a complicated wine to enjoy, with a great balance, subtle layering of flavours and real drive. The finish is deliciously refreshing, with more herbal and saline notes. 92pts. I’m happy to be leading the dance back to the best of our classic Sauvignon Blancs – we should embrace these national treasures this summer, and the ‘20s seem to be on excellent form (so far).
