A single estate Malbec, from the Bridge Pa Triangle in Hawke’s Bay. A dense, super-dark purple colour in the glass. A distinctive bouquet which is noticeably spicy, with black pepper, star anise and liquorice alongside the morello cherry, plum and boysenberry fruit. Quite bold and youthful in the palate, with a bloody and succulent edge to the juicy fruit. Flavours of cola, orange peel and balsam slowly make themselves know in the back of the palate. Tannin is plump and adds to the satisfying roundness and weight. The finish is spicy, glossy and has good length. 91pts
