A wine from the stony, sandy soils of the Askerne vineyard terrace. The final blend saw 20% new oak and 20% second fill. A deep garnet red colour in the glass. Good varietal typicity in the bouquet that is brimming with ripe plum, blackcurrant, bramble and red cherry fruits, woody green herbs, and christmas spices. An easy-going charm through the palate, with the plush fruit and a warm spicy oak note. It is well-made and well-balanced. Fine tannin and bright acidity give a backbone, and there’s a broad, textural finish. 92pts
