A Central Otago Pinot Noir from the Wanaka sub-region. Light and bright in the glass – a translucent ruby red colour. Perfumed with a mixture of dark red fruit, baking spice, savoury earth notes and a lifted touch of exotic florals. Youtfully energetic in the palate too, with a direct acidity keeping things turning over. Toasty, nutty oak is neatly tucked in, slowly revealing a smudge alongside fine, gravelly tannins. Quietly powerful, growing through the plate with a burgeoning texture enfolding the back of the palate. More woody spice on the finish. Delightful now, a few years in bottle will benefit further. 93pts
