A Sauvignon Blanc from the Awatere Valley in Marlborough – reviewed for International Sauvignon Blanc Day 2026. A very pale lemon yellow colour in the glass. Brisk, bright and intense on the nose, with aromas of passionfruit, pomelo, nectarine, apple and lemongrass. Add in green hints of jalapeño, nettle and capsicum, and you’ve got a wine with good sub-regional typicity, mixing New World fruitiness with Old World minerality and focus. Crisp, saline acid contrasts with a creamier texture that mellows the back palate. The finish shows a grapefruit pith and a dry, flinty persistence. 92pts
