A Chardonnay from Hawke’s Bay. Predominantly hand-harvested. 85% whole bunch with fermentation in French oak puncheons for 10 months, of which 10% was new. Sealed under screw cap. A pale, bright and vibrant gold colour – not showing signs of aging other than probably a little darker in colour. On the nose are aromas of rock melon and paraffin. Has developed more palate weight with age but still has its signature mineral/saline crunch and citrus acidity. Despite that crispness, the finish is surprisingly long. Has aged very well but it is time to drink any remaining stocks. 90pts
