From Wanaka, and a part of their vineyard that has some of New Zealand’s oldest Pinot Noir planted. A dark ruby purple colour in the glass. The bouquet has plenty of blue/black tone with blueberry, boysenberry and cherry fruit, dried woody herbals, incense and a floral lift of lavender and rose. Medium-bodied and firmly structured. The zesty acidity noses in front, but there is a balance of tannic grip and a touch of earthy minerality and savoury layers. Nothing sticks out, so the palate appears seamless and linear, but the overall feel is one of elegance and finesse. A smooth, lengthy finish rounds things out. 94pts
