From the estate home block vineyard overlooking the Kina Peninsula in the Nelson region. Winner of a Gold Medal at NZIWS for this vintage. The bouquet has a slight reductivity over ripe stonefruit and citrus aromas, plus exotic spices and roasted cashew nut. Full-bodied and full-throttle in the palate, made in a generous and textural style. Spicy oak toast gives a spine, with zesty acidity adding flow and direction. Both sweet and savoury notes pop up as you progress – tarragon, nut brittle, green olive and ginger appear and mingle with the unctuous flavours featured in the perfume. A silken texture rounds things out before a finish with balance and persistence. 93pts
